Passed away at the Woodstock Hospital on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the age of 94.Beloved husband of Ligia Correia Moniz. Loving father of late Francisco Moniz; Paul and Susan Moniz; Lucy and Frank da Costa and Herbert Moniz and Tracy Lesperance. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Anne Moniz, Cameron Moniz, Brandon Moniz, Evan Moniz and Mason Moniz as well as his great-grandson Austin Moniz. He will be fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law Leonor Pacheco and Lucrecia Correira as well as his many nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his parents Manuel Moniz and Rosa Oliveira, and siblings Manuel Moniz, Maria Rosa Oliveira, José Oliveira and Conçeicão Costa. The family will welcome visitors at the Smith-Leroy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington St. N, Woodstock on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be said at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, 1420 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock at 11 a.m. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
