It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of David Emerson Abonyi on Monday, June 6, 2022 at the age of 50. David was a very special son, brother and uncle. David passed away in his father's loving arms at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe after a brief acute illness. His parents, Julius and Margaret (Symons) of Simcoe provided David a loving home his entire life. Also mourning David are his brother Sean (Lisa), his sister Shannon (Michael), his niece Grace, and nephews Max and Ender. His pleasant, gentle nature and big smile will be missed by all at the Norfolk Association of Community Living, including his friends Laura, Mary and Sharon. Cremation has taken place. To honour David's memory, a Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 79, 200 West Street, Simcoe, N3Y 4K8. A brief service will be held at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the Norfolk Association of Community Living, 644 Ireland Rd, Simcoe, Ontario N3Y 4K2.
