COLLINS, Gordon Joseph

It is with profound sadness, we, the Collins family, announce the sudden, but peaceful passing of our much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, Gordon Joseph Collins, a long-time resident of Tillsonburg, at the age of 76. Gordon passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital. Born in Brantford, to the late Arthur Collins and late Edith (Dingman) Collins. Cherished husband and best friend of 41 wonderful years of Gail (nee Cosstick) Collins. Always a proud and caring father, father-in-law, and grandfather to Matt (Cheryl) Collins, of Tillsonburg and their daughters Hannah, Briella; Nathan Collins, of Tillsonburg; Melodie (Tim Mawson), of Brantford; Lorne Froats, of St. Mary's and his daughter Grace. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and by many friends. Predeceased by four siblings Robert Collins, Joan Green, James Collins, Barbara Jarvis.

Gordon was a member of Tillsonburg Alliance Church. Gordon was formerly employed as a Purchasing Manager between DDM Plastics (1989-1999), Accuride Canada (1999-2007), then Guardian Industries (2008-2009). From 2011-2019, he was employed as a Security Guard with Garda World Security.

Always community-minded, Gordon was a resolute volunteer and scouting leader for many years with Scouts Canada and later the Baden-Powell Scouts' Association of Canada (Canadian Traditional Scouting Association), 5th Tillsonburg. Gordon was also the Past President of the Tillsonburg Non-Profit Housing Corporation. In his spare time, Gordon was an avid Toronto Blue Jays Fan, and enjoyed his membership with the Otter Valley Amateur Radio Association ('Ham Radio').

Verhoeve Funeral Homes - Burial and Cremation Services Inc., 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg, under the care of Pastor Paul Woodburn, of Tillsonburg Alliance Church.
