Edith Noy (nee Murray) was born in Woodstock on July 17, 1937 and died on August 15, 2021 at Joseph Brant Hospital following a battle with lung cancer. Edith was the best friend and long-time companion to Peter Danis and was predeceased by loving sons Jamie (2001) and Hugh (2018). She will be missed by her loyal shih-tzu, Marley. Edith was predeceased by her brother Dan (Shirley) Murray of Woodstock and sister Marion (Ted) Farrell of Brantford and survived by many nieces and nephews. Edith was a long-time employee at the Ministry of the Environment. With her sons, she was a regular cottager in the summer at Port Dover where she was a generous hostess to many guests. Edith had an avid interest in politics and was a staunch supporter of the Liberal party, acting as the Secretary for the provincial Liberal Association in Burlington for many years. The family wishes to thank Rev. Margaret Murray of Sweaburg, ON for her support and the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital who actively cared for and supported Edith over the years. Service of Remembrance will be held at Smith's Funeral Home, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall), Burlington (905-632-3333) on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 1 p.m. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
