August 15, 1943 ~ March 14, 2021 (age 77)

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jean Mikitish (née Barron) on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Victoria Hospital, London, with the love of her family by her side. Jean was in her 78th year, born in Woodstock Ontario on August 15, 1943, to the late Gilbert (1979) and Bessie (née Bunt) (2001) Barron. Loving wife of Douglas Mikitish for over 54 years and mother of Brent and cherished daughter-in-law Giselle. Sister of John (Chris) Barron, sister-in-law of Patricia Clare, Ron, and Micheline Mikitish, and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Jean graduated from the Woodstock School of Nursing in 1965 and was very proud of her career as a registered nurse at the Woodstock General Hospital. She enjoyed many hobbies, especially gardening, and was an avid golfer and member of the Maitland Golf Course in Goderich for many years. Due to the pandemic, a private family service is being held at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home with the interment taking place at a later date in Innerkip Cemetery.
