It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Glenna Laurine Robinson (Barnes) of Calgary, Alberta, on January 24, 2021, peacefully in the presence of family. She was in her 89th year. She remained a loving, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a friend to all whose lives she touched.

Glenna was born to Grace and Frank Barnes of Mt. Pleasant, Ontario. She was raised there along with her sister Norma and her brother Leroy. She was baptized at All Saints Anglican Church in Mt. Pleasant, Ontario. She married Donald and moved to Woodstock, Ontario where he began a constable position with the Woodstock Police Department. In 1958 she became a member of the Church of Good Shepherd in Woodstock, Ontario where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Cherished mother of three boys: Larry (Rose), Dwayne (Michelle), Dale (Jeannie) and her daughter Donna (Brad) and 10 grandchildren: Justin, Cassandra, Shanley, Brett, Haleigh, Caitlin, Alyssa, Jessica, Hanna, Katie, and great-grandson Huxson.

She was predeceased by her mother Grace, her father Frank, and husband

Donald. She is survived by her sister Norma (Ed), brother Leroy (Marg) and their children and grandchildren.

Glenna worked for State Farm Insurance at the Woodstock office of Wayne Geall. Over the years, Ontario's damp weather continued to negatively impact her arthritis. Once her boys had grown and left the nest, she relocated with Donna to Calgary, Alberta. This relocation to the dry western climate allowed her to continue work, while having the additional benefit of being close to the mountains and blue flowing rivers she adored. Retirement years were enjoyed hosting family and friends as the proud tour guide of the landmarks and mountains of Alberta.

Glenna's passions remained steadfast and beautifully balanced: her church and her family. She played the role of mother and father in a time when it was not common. Despite these challenges, she made a home full of love, laughter and safety. She continued to remain a member of St. Mark's and St. Philip Anglican church in Calgary and was a A.C.W. Silver Cross member and was a lifetime member of the Anglican Church.

Glenna would want us all to know that her work here is done. She received a call from above, an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge signing bonus... a reunion with her mom and dad, and all family, and friends.

Funeral service will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, Calgary, Alberta, on Friday, January 29, 2021. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes to the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated. On line condolences can be sent to www.arbormemorial.ca.
