With broken hearts we announce the passing of Richard Norman Brown of Woodstock in his 86th year.

Treasured by his wife of 37 years, Dorothy Brown, the love of his life and best friend. Beloved Father to Montgomery Brown of New York and the late Lisa Overholt formerly of Woodstock. Loving Papa to granddaughter Emily Overholt of Woodstock. Much loved by sisters Weltha Fountain of New Brunswick and Sue Ross of Ontario. Predeceased by brothers James Brown, Henry Brown and sisters Jeannie Wells and Lorraine Thomas.

Richard will be sadly missed by Rick and Sarah Pendykoski of Arizona, Pearl Pendykoski of Ontario, and his many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be especially missed by his 4 legged buddy Gnocchi.

Richard began his teaching career in New Brunswick, his home province, then spent many years teaching in St. Catharines, Ontario. Following that he used this educational profession to indulge his love to travel and experience new places all across Canada from New Brunswick, to British Columbia to the North West Territories and Alberta, finally returning to Ontario where he retired. After retiring Richard enjoyed camping where he could enjoy the quiet and solitude of nature. Richard's quick smile and easy manner will be missed by all who met him. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Sakura House who helped ease Richard's transition to his next journey. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date. As expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated and may be made directly or by cheque through WAREING CREMATION SERVICES, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock, Ontario (519-290-5575). Messages of condolence and remembrance may be shared at www.wareingcremation.ca
