Dear mother of the late Michael Iorio (2019), Emily Iorio, Savannah Fraser, Darcie (Geoff) Lee, Aaron (Aoife) Fraser, and Blair Fraser. Cherished grandmother of Jared, Madeline, Eoghan and Maeve. Loving sister and lifelong friend of Adele (Walter) Taylor-Pick. Predeceased by her parents Eric and Lilian (nee Roll) Taylor. Elaina served with the Woodstock Police Services for over 31 years, with the last 13 years specifically in Domestic Abuse Services Division where she retired as Sergeant in 2017. Elaina was the first female hired by the Woodstock Police Service, and held numerous positions within the Police Service during her career. Elaina was respected provincially, for her knowledge and skills related to domestic violence procedures in Policing. Amongst other responsibilities, the Committee assisted with the revisions and the updating of Provincial Policing Standards with regard to Domestic Violence and developed Provincial Domestic Violence Training for Police Services in Ontario. Elaina, in a last request, asks that in support of her passion to end Domestic Violence, attendees to the visitation and Celebration of Life wear something purple. Purple being the symbolic colour to shine the light on women abuse.
