HOARE, Robert James

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Hoare. Robert was better known as Bob to all of those people who knew him. He is survived by his sons Jim Hoare (Sylviane) and Russ Orr (Diane), his grandsons Dan Orr (Dana) and Kyle Orr (Carol), his granddaughter Jessica Orr, and his great-grandson Malcolm Orr. He is predeceased by his wife Erna Hoare, his parents Elizabeth and Leslie Hoare, and his brother William Hoare. Bob will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Sue Kristman, Helen Newell, Russ Newell and Kate Carmale.Bob was born and raised in Ingersoll, Ontario. He moved to Woodstock in 1946 where he met, and later married, Erna Kristman on Nov 18, 1950. They had two sons (Jim and Russ) and lived in Woodstock for the rest of their lives. Over the years Bob enjoyed fishing, skating at many of the ice rinks in Oxford County, playing music (first with a trumpet and later with a clarinet), and gardening. He was also an avid sports fan favouring the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leaf hockey team. He will be missed by us all. Respecting his wishes, there will not be a visitation or funeral service. There are plans for a Celebration of Bob's Life to be held in the spring of 2020.
