Of Ingersoll, in her 97th year, daughter of the late Sam and Maude Douglas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8th, 2019 at Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll.
Beloved wife of, and now reunited for eternity with, Bruce Borland. Loving mother of John (Cathy) of Sarasota, Florida, and David (Pam) of London. Loving grandmother of Jonathon of Toronto, Matthew (Erika) of Sarasota, and Ben of London, and great-grandmother of Madison (5) and Abigail (2) of Sarasota. Also survived by her brothers and sister-in-law, Tom (Evy) Douglas and Don Douglas and many very supportive and loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Sam (Dorothy) Douglas and Cheryl Douglas.
Marie was a long-standing member of St. James' Anglican Church. Always passionate about spending time with her family and friends, even as she was less mobile, Marie stayed connected with her loved ones by sharing and commenting on experiences by using her iPad (and luckily her great- granddaughters had many pictures posted for her to enjoy). Sharp, witty and good-humoured through her final days, Marie requested with a kind chuckle that a message be relayed to Bruce during a family member's recent cemetery visit - "Please tell Bruce I'll see him soon; I'm currently in transit to Heaven!"
The family will receive friends at St. James' Anglican Church, Ingersoll, on Saturday, August 17th from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon, to be followed directly by a Memorial Service and Reception, Rev. Paul Walmsley officiating.
Memorial donations in Marie's memory would be appreciated and may be made to St. James' Anglican Church or Alexandra Hospital Foundation.
