t is with great sadness that the family of John Overholt announces his sudden passing on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the age of 71 years. John will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Patricia (Karl Scholz) and his son, John and his youngest son Tommy who passed away in 1998. John was an active and loving Papa to his 3 grandchildren, Jennifer, Joshua, and Tyler. John will also be fondly remembered by his four great grandchildren, Max, Charlie, Delilah, Liam, and Caleb. It's unfortunate that Papa will not be here for the start of his fifth generation coming this November. John was a Fur Papa and loyal companion to the George the Cat and great dog sitter to several pups.
John was the second oldest son born to the late Thomas and Frances Overholt and grew up on the family farm in Ingersoll with his 4 siblings. He will be greatly missed by his older brother Thomas and Ruth (predeceased), Gary and Barbara and his younger sisters Anna (Bob) Cook, Helen Anderson. And to Uncle John to many nieces and nephews.
John was a truck driver until his retirement in 2013 from Hutton Transport. He spent many years living in the Greater Sudbury area and back locally. Since 2016 John lived with his loving family in Kitchener, Ontario
Friends will be received at the McBEATH-DYNES FUNERAL HOME 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll on Wednesday, from 2- 4 and 6-8:00 PM. The funeral service in memory of John will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 1:00 pm, with Reverend Dr. David Thompson officiating.
Interment will follow later. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of John to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Mental Health Society.Personal condolences may be sent at www.mcbeathdynes.ca
