TATHAM, Mildred Lillian (née Skinner) - July 15, 1925 to September 4, 2018 Graciously and peacefully, Millie Tatham slipped quietly away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Born in Orillia, Ontario, Millie was the daughter of Sidney and Lillian Skinner. After graduating from Woodstock General Hospital's School of Nursing in 1948, she married the love of her life, Charles Murray Tatham. Over the next 49 years Millie and Charlie lived in Woodstock, Ontario raising their five children. Throughout those years, Millie supported Charlie's many political pursuits all the while maintaining a steady hand on the home front. In 1997 they moved to beautiful Powell River, British Columbia where they enjoyed many stunning sunsets from their home overlooking the Salish Sea. Following Charlie's passing in 2016, Millie moved to Edgemont Village, North Vancouver to be closer to her children and grandchildren. A devoted mother and wife, Millie was bright, thoughtful, well-read and loved to discuss current affairs. She had a passion for gardening, pottery, painting, photography and textile arts. She loved to paint the flowers in her garden and knitted beautiful mohair throws and sweaters. In recent months, Millie produced some of her finest watercolour and acrylic paintings. Millie was predeceased by her loving husband, Charlie, and son, Andrew. She will be greatly missed and warmly remembered by her children Charlene Gavel (Lee) North Vancouver, BC, Patricia Garrod (Wess) Yarker, ON, Daniel (Devon) Powell River, BC, Peter (Maren) West Vancouver, BC, daughter-in-law, Pati Morton, Toronto; her grandchildren, Erin, Andy (Jenn), Georgia (Stu), Wes (Mel), Chad (Sarah), Kelly, Cam (Monika), Emma, Jack, Anna, Rebecca, Zachariah (Katrina), and her great-grandchildren, Felix, Maxime and Anna. There will be a family Celebration of Life at the Deep Cove Yacht Club, North Vancouver on Saturday November 10, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM. In Millie's memory donations can be made to the Terry Fox Foundation, www.terryfox.org, or Artists for Kids www3.gordonsmithgallery.ca
