TAYLOR, Jean Marie (Nee Anderson) - At peace with Jesus, at Tillsonburg Memorial Hospital, Tillsonburg on July 24, 2018 in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Douglas Taylor. Loved mother of Douglas and his wife Wanda of Fingal, Ronald and his wife Sharron of Wingham, Barbara Taylor of London, Patricia and her husband Chuck Abela of Sioux Lookout, and Donna and her husband David Case of Frankford. Cherished Grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews and step-children. Also survived by an extra special extended family, Jean Mark and Cathy Beneteau and their 3 children of Belle River. Survived by one brother, Gordon Anderson of Paris. Predeceased by her parents, Elwin and Mary Anderson of Brantford, and one sister, Evelyn Guerney of Princeton. Jean had a generous heart, fun-spirited, a great laugh, a strong independent woman, and she didn’t hold back but rather spoke her mind. She put others needs before hers. She was more concerned about others lives than her own wellbeing. Her life was full raising her children in Avon and in Ingersoll. Jean was a 47 year cancer survivor which we understand is the longest survivor and this did not take her life. Her life was full. Jean Taylor was so very proud to be a World Vision Child Sponsor for over 34 years. She was a global knitter for AIDS babies in Africa, the quickest quilter hands-down and made over 200 quilts. Jean was generous and donated quilts for charity fundraising efforts. Jean Taylor was an incredible soprano singer, and spent every penny of her earnings in voice lessons as a teenager. She was proud to sing on the radio in WWII when she wasn’t working on war airplane flaps. Yes, Jean was a Rosie-the-Riveter! She started a business in Ingersoll, Jean’s Ceramics. Many know her for her beautiful ceramics, baby quilts, green thumb for gardening and Shaklee vitamins - likely why she lived just shy of 96 years (August 1). She is the last survivor of her generation in the Taylor clan. Jean and Stan have the largest family in the Taylor ancestry and she was very proud of her family. The last few months were a struggle for her and Jean was ready to go. She was happy expressing she has had a wonderful life, and a life of no regrets. Remarkably Jean was blessed to live in her own home and enjoy her beautiful gardens up to a couple weeks before being admitted to hospital. Her children, close relatives, and her extended families cherished the last few weeks caring for Jean in the hospital. It was an honour for many of us to give back to her, a portion of what she so willingly gave to others her whole life. Jean Taylor was blessed with longevity and a great life, something to celebrate. Visitation at OSTRANDER FUNERAL HOME , 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Saturday July 28, 2018 at 10:00 am followed by a Celebration of Life Service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 12 noon. Burial at Tillsonburg Cemetery. A lunch will be served following the burial service at Avondale Church, 60 Harvey Street, Tillsonburg. As an expression of love, memorial donations can be made to World Vision, or to First Baptist Church, Tillsonburg through the funeral home.
