RUDDICK, Donald William - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Donald William Ruddick on February 11th in his 82nd year. Survived by his children Michelle Harvey (Andrew), Donald J. Ruddick (Jean) and his grandchildren Jacob, Rachel, & Nicole Harvey. Also survived by his brother Doug Ruddick, and brother-in-law Ken Hoare (Jackie). Predeceased by his parents James & Eva Ruddick, his sisters Irene Hoare and Mary McCutcheon, brother-in-law Jack McCutcheon & his son-in-law Ed Harvey. Don grew up on a farm in Ingersoll. Don worked for CP railway and then for many years at the Town of Ingersoll taking care of the ball diamonds in the summer (where he was known to many as “Diamond Don”) and arena in the winter. Don’s true love was harness racing having owned, trained & drove horses for the better part of 50 years. He spent his retirement traveling North America spending time with family & friends. Cremation has taken place. Interment at the Ingersoll Rural Cemetery and a memorial horse race will take place this summer
