NORCROSS, Muriel Anne (nee Neufeld) - Passed away peacefully at Highview Residences February 7, 2018 at the age of 78. Loving wife of the late Gregory Norcross and mother of 3 sons, the late Gary Norcross, Kevin Curtis-Norcross (wife Sylvia), and Scott Norcross (wife Tara Harris). Sister of Lorna Rees-Potter. Proud Grandmother of Andrew Lipcsik, Alexander Harris and Lilly Curtis-Norcross. Daughter of the late Abram and Lily Neufeld. Born in Montreal, May 22, 1939, Muriel graduated in 1960 from McGill University in Montreal with Bachelor of Science. She married Greg in London in 1961 and started her family in 1962. Her interest in science and nature was shared with her family with many summer trips. These included cottage stays in British Columbia and Ontario as well as many trips across and around Canada and the United States. Muriel and her family settled in Woodstock in a lovely house with a backyard designed around her interest in nature. She always felt the need to help others and was a longtime volunteer treasurer with the Oxford County chapter of the MS Society. Muriel enjoyed many meals with friends of the ?gourmet group? of the local University Women?s club for over 30 years. She and Greg shared their interest in nature with a membership in the Woodstock Field Naturalists and volunteered with the organization for many years. Muriel also had an interest in the arts and volunteered at the Woodstock Art Gallery. Mum?s delightful sense of humor stayed with her through her life even when the effects of Alzheimer?s disease was diminishing her world. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. A special thanks to the staff at Highview Residences and Ann Post for the care provided for Mum over these last two years. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family interment. A celebration of her life will take place in Woodstock in the spring, time and location to be announced in the future. Donations can be made to Highview Residences London, Ontario, Alzhiemer?s Society of Canada, the Woodstock Field Naturalists, Ontario Nature or Bird Studies Canada.
