MacKAY, RN, Edith Marlene (Graham) - After a courageous five year battle with cancer, Marlene passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario on the morning of Friday, January 12, 2018. Beloved wife of Donald Gail MacKay for 49 years, she will be forever loved by children, Robbie (Robin), Kimberly (Brian), Tracy (Stephen), and Daniel (Megan). Proud "Nana" of grandchildren - Alexandra, Thomas, and Scott Hoogkamp, and Agnes Moon MacKay - and "ready-made" grandchildren - Jacob and Michaela Woeller. Daughter of Francis Leon Graham and Lillie May Graham Beal (Beemer). Marlene is survived by siblings Marilyn Smith, Lynn Harvey, Ken Graham, Lana Graham, and Bill Graham and sisters and brothers-in-law Larry John MacKay, Valerie Buchanan, Sandy MacKay, Kevin MacKay and Merilee Peter. She will be forever in the hearts of her large extended family and countless dear friends. Marlene was born and lived most of her life in Ingersoll, Ontario. She had a long nursing career at Alexandra Hospital and was a life-time member of the Community of Christ congregation in Corinth. Marlene was a passionate and enthusiastic member and past Queen of the Omar Temple #111 of the Daughters of the Nile, London. Mar enjoyed travel, swimming, board and card games, needle crafts, gardening, and watching her beloved Blue Jays - the baseball and avian variety. She is remembered as strong-willed and having a wonderful sense of humour. She loved having a house full of family, friends, music and food and made everyone feel welcome. Visitors will be received at the McBEATH-DYNES FUNERAL HOME , 246 Thames. St. S. in Ingersoll on Tuesday, January 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00, and Wednesday, January 17 from 12:30 to 1:30. The service will be held on Wednesday, January 17 at 1:30 followed by a reception at the Ingersoll Pipe Band Hall, 108 Wonham St. S. at 2:30. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children and Community of Christ Corinth. Personal condolences may be left at www.gffh.ca. Her family would like to thank Dr. Mangel, Dr. Walker and the caring nurses and support workers on the 7th floor for their excellent care and compassion.
