Douglas Edward Bowles, 85, of Woodstock passed away peacefully with family by his side at Woodstock General Hospital on Sunday, February 4, 2018. He was born on December 5, 1932 in York County, Ontario the son of the late Sidney and Lilly (Bleany) Bowles. Doug is survived by his wife, the former Marjorie Leis, whom he married at Poole in Perth County on January 30, 1959; four children, Gerald Bowles of Bayfield, Evonne and husband Paul Musselman of R.R. 1, Stratford; Stephen and wife Debi Bowles of Oxford Centre, Brenda and husband Jonathan Huber of Gadshill; sixteen grandchildren, Jordon Bowles and wife Tonya, Jason Bowles and wife Trish, Justin Bowles and wife Jessica, Jeffrey Musselman and wife Karen, Joshua Musselman, Jenna and husband Mike Reaper, Tyler Bowles and wife Emily, Aaron Bowles, Kaitlyn Kiiuvain and Mark Johnston, Kristen Kiiuvain, Victoria Hiiuvain, Deanna Hiiuvain, Richard Huber and fiancee, Vanessa; Terri Huber, Kristy Huber and Victoria Huber; blessed with eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Major Ronald Bowles and wife Jane Ann, Donald Bowles and wife Marie. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Doreen Bowles, Sidney and Margaret Bowles, Gordon and Emma Bowles. Relatives and friends will be received in the FRANCIS FUNERAL HOME , 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. and on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Faithway Baptist Church, 576 Brant Street, Woodstock from 12:30 - 1:45 p.m. where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. The Rev. Ken Ingram will officiate. Reception following. Interment in South Easthope Cemetery, Shakespeare will be in the spring.
