WALLACE, W. Beverley "Bev" - Peacefully at the Woodstock Hospital on Friday, May 19th, 2017 in his 91st year. Beloved husband for 66 years of the late Ruth Marie Wallace (nee Swartz) (2012). Dear father of Dianne Wallace of Woodstock and Jim Wallace (predeceased 1977). Loved and adored by his one and only "favourite" granddaughter Melissa (Jeremy) Wheaton of Woodstock and the apple of his eye, his great granddaughter Makayla. Father-in-law of Kathy Wallace of Woodstock. Born in Muir, he lived his entire life in Oxford County. He is predeceased by his parents John and Mae Wallace, his brothers John (Jean), Tom, Doug and sister Jean (Glen Kitchen). He will be missed by his sisters-in-law Marlene and Betty along with his extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins. Bev was a true champion of Woodstock, Ingersoll and Oxford County. In his energetic and determined way, he worked tirelessly at whatever endeavour he undertook and there were many throughout his lifetime. He is primarily known for his 24 years with the Woodstock Agricultural Society as the Secretary-Manager, Treasurer (1967-1991) and came out of retirement to work "part-time" for the Ingersoll District Chamber of Commerce (1994-2005). Bev volunteered and held executive positions with many community organizations locally and across Ontario. His gregarious smile and his heartfelt handshake were trademarks of his love of people and his sincere nature. He was a member of Oxford Masonic Lodge No. 76, Woodstock. Family and friends will be received at the BROCK & VISSER FUNERAL HOME , 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock on Friday, May 26th from 2:00-4:00pm & 7:00-9:00pm where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, May 27th, 2017 at 11:00 am with the Ven.
