RACEY, Joseph N. Francis "Frank" - Passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Woodstock Hospital after a lengthy illness in his 90th year. Loved husband, companion, and best friend of wife Ruth Racey (nee Atkinson) for over 66 years. Also, survived by his three sons Thomas Racey (Penny Stewart) of Kingston, Gerald Racey (Janet Bisset) of Thunder Bay and Alan Racey (Kim Burley) of Red Deer, Alberta. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Erin Banton (Scott) of Sault Ste. Marie, Ian Racey (Robyn) of Hinton, Alberta, Brian Racey (Jennifer) of Ottawa, Sarai Racey (Glenn Kisman) of Cumberland, B.C, Jordan Racey (Alissa) of Kingston, as well as his great grandchildren Paige Banton, William Banton, Ethan Racey, Rowan Kisman and Wyatt Racey. Survived by his brother George Racey (Jean) of Fort Lauderdale and Exeter and sister-in-law Edna Racey of London. Predeceased by his parents Maurice and Mabel (nee Mollard) Racey and brother Arthur Racey. Frank touched many lives throughout his 35 years of teaching, mostly in Oxford County. He loved the outdoors and with his wife Ruth enjoyed many years of family hiking, camping and canoeing. He was an avid gardener and bird watcher. Many thanks to the Complex Continuing Care Unit Staff at Woodstock Hospital for the wonderful care Frank received during his hospital stay. A visitation will be held at the Church of the Epiphany, 560 Dundas St. Woodstock, Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 12:30-2:15 pm. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 pm. A private family interment will take place in Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to The Church of the Epiphany Building Fund, the Humane Society or the Parkinson’s Society of Southwestern Ontario and can be made through SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME , 69 Wellington St. North, Woodstock. 519-537-3611.
