COLLIE, Effie Bereniece - We remember the life lived of Bereniece Collie (nee Willsie), who left this world on July 18, 2016. She was born on August 27, 1930, at the family home in Creditville, and spent her life living and working in the Princeton area. Pre-deceased by her loving husband Stuart, and survived by her son James, (Inez) and grandchildren Paul (Emily) and Stacey. Pre-deceased by her parents Irven & Beatrice (Willsie) Watt, Alexander “Doc” Watt, brothers Ross, Elvin, Almon Willsie; sister-in-law, Helen Willsie; brother-in-law’s, George McLelland, and Don Racknor. Survived by her siblings, Dorothy McLelland, Ferne Racknor, Rose Green (Norm Sutherland), Reah (Ted) Webb, Edna (Dyce) Williamson, sister-in-law Joan Willsie, Helen and Fred Watt, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bereniece and Stu spent many years farming tobacco in Princeton and after selling the family farm they moved to Hwy # 2 beside her sister Edna and Dyce. There Bereniece started a new career serving coffee and donuts at Tim Horton’s in Woodstock working for Jack & Pat Barnes. This was something she enjoyed as she got to know many regulars and had great fun teasing and being teased by this new group of friends. In the late seventies Mom & Dad started spending winters in Florida, where Mom described the time as her play time. Bereniece enjoyed over 35 winters in Sebring, Florida where she was very active with the local community, she participated in numerous activities and volunteering at many events. She was also a lifetime member of the Rebekah’s (I.O.O.F.) Lodge in Princeton. She always loved having her grandchildren show up to visit, which lead to many more activates and fun things which always included ice cream. She was always the farm girl, whether it was cutting her grass or looking after her flower beds, she could always be found outside working at little chores. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers of Stedman Community Hospice, Brantford General Hospital, and Telfer Place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. A Family interment has taken place at Princeton Cemetery. Donations can be made to “Friends of Princeton Park” or to a charity of your choice. I come to the garden alone While the dew is still on the roses And the voice I hear, falling on my ear The son of God discloses. And He walks with me And He talks with me And He tells me I am His own
