WILHELM, Harold F. "Harry" - Harold Fleming "Harry" Wilhelm, 90, of R.R. #2, Tavistock passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at VON Sakura House, Woodstock on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. He was born in East Zorra Township; Oxford County on January 7, 1926, son of the late Theodore and Flora (Krug) Wilhelm. Harry farmed in East Zorra Township; was a member of Trinity Evangelical Luthern Church, Sebastopol-Tavistock where he had served in many capacities on boards and organizations including the choir and the church council. He was a member of Nith Valley singers for twelve years; a member of the Tavistock Agricultural Society for more than fifty years; played ball and hockey and was active in coaching in Tavistock Minor Hockey for many years and had been the recipient of several volunteer awards in Tavistock and area. Sustainable farming and nature was a major interest during his lifetime. Harry is survived by his wife, the former Lyla Mary Herlick, whom he married on June 18, 1949; six children, Carolyn and husband Leonard Wilker, Mary and husband Brian Pfaff, Bonnie and husband David Hallman, Joan and husband Ronald Ferguson, Kim Urlando and spouse Barry Klein and Wayne Wilhelm; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Edith Bean; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Vida Mae and John Innes, Ruth Herlick and Audrey Herlick along with many nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, George and Lenore Wilhelm; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and Gordon McGregor, Edna and John McKay and Newton Bean and several "Herlick" brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Relatives and friends will be received in the FRANCIS FUNERAL HOME , 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Saturday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Sebastopol-Tavistock on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. The Rev Richard P. Brown will officiate. Interment in Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church Stained Glass Replacement Fund or VON Sakura House, Woodstock would be appreciated and may be made through the Francis Funeral Home by calling 519-655-2431
