MILLIE, Tim - Peacefully at Victoria Hospital, London on Sunday, January 24, 2016 in his 62nd year. Beloved husband of Linda Millie of Woodstock. Dear father of Rhiannon Auger (Shawn) of Woodstock, Bethanie Fulton (Jeremy) of Innerkip, Caitlin Millie of London, Mike Lockhart of St John, NB. Loving grandfather of Nathaniel, Hannah, Jackson and Bryce. Loving son of Hilda Millie of Chatham. Brother of Greg Millie of Windsor, Carol Hedley (Bill) of Chatham, Cathy Smith of Chatham. Brother-in-law to Jim Cressman of London. Predeceased by his father Earl Millie and his brother Rodger Millie. As per his wishes, a celebration of Tim's life will be held at The Waterloo Regional Police Association (1128 Rife Rd, North Dumfries, ON) on Sunday, January 31st, 2016 from 12-4 pm with speeches being at 1pm. Tim started his working career as a mechanic and service advisor for London Motor Products and then an opportunity brought him to Simcoe as service manager for the MacMaster Pontiac Buick Cadillac Ltd. All the while aspiring to become a police officer until he was hired by the Waterloo Regional Police Service in 1989. Tim spent many years as a part of the police service in different departments. Tim's passion was to teach and mentor new recruits. Even after his diagnosis and while he was fighting his own battle he participated in the Ride of Your Life Tour where members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service rode from Grand River Regional Cancer Centre in Kitchener to Parliament Hill in Ottawa. When he was no longer strong enough to ride his bike that distance he supported the riders and tour in any way he could. This annual event raises funds for the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre and raises awareness for the Canadian Police and Peace Officers Memorial in Ottawa. In Tim's spare time he enjoyed music, being at Clear Lake, participating in triathlons (including Ironman Canada in British Columbia), travelling where ever he could, riding his motorcycle, spending time with friends, the DWARPS, hunt camp associates, fellow police officers and mostly spending time with his family. His children and grandchildren gave him extra strength and were his sunshine when he was feeling down. Tim's life passion was to help anyone and everyone in anyway he could. His sense of humour and positivity were traits that were seen on a daily basis no matter what he was going through. Tim's fight with cancer was a lengthy one and he never gave in to the disease. He lent his body to science to help others in the future by participating in drug trials. We will remember him for the positive, strong, funny, courageous and loving man whom we all love and cherish. Special thank you to all our friends and family, staff of the CCTC unit at Victoria Hospital in London, London Regional Cancer Program, staff of the Emergency room in Woodstock and to Dr Richard A. Malthaner, Dr Stephen Welch and Dr Binh Vu. Expressions of sympathy and donations in lieu of flowers to the charity of your choice would be appreciated and may be made through LONDON CREMATION SERVICES (519) 672-0459 or online at www.londoncremation.com As per Tim's wishes cremation has taken place
