BURSAW, Robert - Called home to our Lord suddenly as the result of a traffic incident in Stratford, ON. Robert Allan (Bob) Bursaw, formerly of Woodstock, will be remembered fondly by his sister Cleda (Bursaw) Yachetti and husband Roger of Hamilton, his sister-in-law Leslie (Johnston) Bursaw of Dunnville; and his nephews and nieces Jimi Bursaw (Jennifer) of Brisbane AU, Aaron Yachetti of Binbrook, Andrea Lorentz (Craig) of Scotland ON, and Elizabeth Yachetti of Toronto; as well as many relatives and friends. Predeceased by his father Edgar Bursaw, his mother Cleda Bursaw Stevenson and his brother Kenneth Bursaw. Bob enjoyed several passions: horses, cars and boats. A media photo of his 100-mile ride by horseback recalled a similar ride by his father, Edgar, long ago in the USA. Having completed, in 1979, the three-year course in "Marine Technology Navigation" at Georgian College, Bob became qualified as a ship's officer and enjoyed employment for several years aboard Great Lakes' freighters, ascending to the levels of First Mate - Inland and Second Mate - Ocean going. After leaving the shipping industry, he was employed at Chris Craft in Stratford, a city which became his home. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the SMITH-LEROY FUNERAL HOME , 69 Wellington St. N., Woodstock on Monday, October 26, 2015 from 11:00 am-12:45 pm, with a service to follow in the chapel at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association, or charity of choice, would be appreciated. Smith-LeRoy, 519-537-3611. Personal condolences may be sent at www.smithleroy.com
