ARMSTRONG, Barry Nelson - June 16, 1939 - July 29, 2015. lt is with sadness that we announce the passing of Barry on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Barry leaves behind his wife and companion of 55 years Beverly (nee Pollock), loving children Randy, Scott, and Leslie (Tony DeJongh), and much loved grandchildren Connor, Ellery, Eamon and Aaron all of Woodstock, and Lindsay of New Zealand, step daughter Pat (Cathy Pappas) Thomson, and sister Carolyn (Jim) Mutton. Barry was predeceased by his parents Clarence Armstrong and Violet (Wilker) Armstrong, and his loving grandmother Ella (Krug) Wilker; sisters in law Betty MacKay and, Linda Pollock, and brothers in law Walter Meadows and Keith Pollock. He is survived by sisters in law Barbara Meadows, and Faith (Brian) Lee. Barry was a life-long resident of Woodstock, and worked at Hay and Company, King Hydraulic, and then retired after 21 years at Kelsey Hayes. He loved grey sweaters, good chocolate, old time country music, and model A cars. He liked to spend his time researching his family history, watching his grandkids, and hogging the clicker. He was a quiet man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in his life. His commitment to his family was complete and unwavering, and he will be dearly missed. Arrangements are entrusted to SMITH-LEROY FUNERAL HOME, Woodstock. Condolences can be sent to www.smithleroy.com As per Barry's wishes, a family graveside service will be held after cremation. In keeping with Barry's quiet, unassuming character, his wishes did not include flowers or donations; but the performing of a small random act of kindness in his memory, would be appreciated
