BARKER-JAMES, Robin Falconer Wallace - Oct. 28, 1955 - April 21, 2015. Robin died in his sleep of sudden cardiac arrest. He is so greatly missed by his wife, Susan of 20 years, and his cherished puppies, Geordie and Calei. Robin grew up in an armed forces family with 3 generations of service. He lived on bases out west, in Nova Scotia, in Marville France, and in Trenton Ontario. He obtained his BA from Trent University, then worked in business for 10 years. Following his dream to be a teacher, he received his B Ed. from U of T. He was a unique teacher who taught at Glendale HS in Tillsonburg for 25 years. Teaching was his passion and he touched the lives of so many students both in the classroom and on the outdoor/trenches site at the farm near Tillsonburg. You were his kids! He earned his MA in Military History from UWO in 2012. He was awarded the Diamond Jubilee medal in 2013 for his work in education and Remembrance. Robin was an avid historian and was the first president of the Tillsonburg Military History club. He ran summer history camps and wrote, acted in and directed the play "1914" in September of 2014. Robin was an enthusiastic traveller and enjoyed and guided many trips through the battlefields, cemeteries and wonders of Europe. He was a voracious reader and was so proud to publish his book, "The Last Trench Fighter". He was dedicated to veterans, Remembrance and promoting peace in our world. His message to you would be to follow your dream, live honestly and simply and let God do the rest. "Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now I'm found, was blind but now I see." Memorial service will be at the Lions Auditorium, Tillsonburg Community Centre, on Saturday May 30, 10:30 am. Donations: Ontario SPCA, Wounded Warriors, Love of reading, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the OSTRANDER'S FUNERAL HOME .
