ESTILL, Don D. - May 2,1927 - January 18, 2015 - Don died at home in Guelph, Ontario. Loving husband of Ann for 61 years. Proud father of Jim (Elizabeth Waywell), Glen, and Lyle (Tami Schwerin). Predeceased in 2008 by beloved eldest son Mark. Dearly loved by grandchildren Laura Estill (Dan Austen), Beth Mitchell (Chris), David (Amy), Jessalyn Kiesa (Dan), Kaitlin, Zafer, and Arlo Estill; and by great-grands Joshua and Victoria Mitchell and Xavier Austen. Don took delight in seeing his children and grandchildren mature into fine human beings. Also survived by sister Betty Armstrong of Rogers, Arkansas. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Don served briefly in WWII and was a graduate of Oklahoma State (Engineering 1950), Don was highly respected in the control valve industry, and a ready mentor to many. He became a Canadian citizen in 1969. Don loved all kinds of games, especially bridge. He was a walking encyclopedia of statistics on pro and collegiate sports, most notably baseball. Right up to his last months, he continued his regular fitness regime. In all venues, Don was known for his kindness, integrity, patience and quick wit. A steadfast recycler, he willed his body to the Anatomy Department at the University of Guelph. If you wish to honour his memory, a donation in his name to the Cancer Society or to the Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada would be appreciated by the family. A service celebrating his life will be held at Harcourt Memorial United Church, Guelph, at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 21st, followed by a reception at Reid Hall in the Village by the Arboretum
