D'ARCY (Neate), Carol Ethel Mary - Passed away suddenly at Brantford General Hospital on December 26, 2014, in her 69th year. Carol was born Carol Ethel Mary Foster on January 5, 1945 in Woodstock. Predeceased by her parents Elgin Joseph Foster and Mary Catherine Bray (nee Becker). She leaves behind her long time partner and the rock in their relationship Norm Neate of Brantford. Sister to Doug Foster (Cathy), Bev Foster (Shirley), sister-in-law Shirley Foster and predeceased by brother Elgin Foster. Mother to Kevin D'Arcy (Cheryl) of Waterloo, Sean D'Arcy (Sue) of Port Elgin, and her best friend and daughter Sherri D'Arcy (Derrick) of Brantford. Grandmother to Brady, Jessica, Jordan and Reese who will miss grandma very much. Also survived by Norm's son Roger Neate (Tara) of Oakville and their children Jenna and Alec. Extended grandchildren Brenna and Shannon, Tracey Kitchen and family. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Carol had a strong and steadfast commitment to caring for her family. She lived for family get-togethers and hosting her friends. She had a passion for gardening and bird watching. She enjoyed her time spent with the ladies at The Harbourlight and long time friend Jane Mcallister. She spent the happiest years of her life in Port Elgin and Brantford. Carol was a caring, loving mother and grandmother. She treasured each and every one of her children and grandchildren. You would often hear Carol talking about all of their accomplishments. She was very proud of them. Even in her final hours, her concern was for her family and never for herself. She will be forever missed and her memory will live on in our hearts. As to Carol's wishes, no funeral service to be held and cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Carols life to be held on January 3rd, 2015 at Carol and Norm's home at 4 Pinehill Drive, Brantford, Ontario from 2p.m.-5 p.m.. And also on January 10th, 2015 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 340 at 630 Green Street, Port Elgin from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. We would like to thank the medical staff, especially the nurses, at Brantford General Hospital for their professionalism, sensitivity and true affection during this ordeal. In lieu of flowers a donation in Carol's name can be made to charity of your choice.
