BISHOP, Rae Robert - The family of R. Robert (Bob) Bishop announce his sudden, but peaceful, passing at Strathroy-Middlesex General Hospital on Monday, February 3, 2014, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of the late Joan Hobbin (2007) after nearly sixty years of marriage; loving father of Pamela Christie (Peter 2010) of London and cherished grandfather of Erin Thum Johnson of London, England. He is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephew Julie Penny (Brent), Jane Prouse, Jill Richardson (Rick), Wendy VanDaele (Jerry), Laura Bishop (David Blackburn), Randy Bishop (Brenda), and several great nieces and great nephews. Bob was born August 12, 1931 to the late Harold Bishop and Laura Sumner. He was predeceased by brothers Alfred Bishop 1981 (late Shirley), Gerald Bishop 1989 (late Til), sisters Eva Farrell 1974 (late Morris), Pauline 1988 (late F/O William Kennedy 1944 and late Donald McLaren). He was a respected and dedicated employee of Ontario Hydro for over thirty years. He was a longtime member of St. John's Lodge #104, Norwich. The family would like to say a very special thank you for the kindness and compassion always given to Bob by the wonderful staff at Strathmere Lodge, with an extra special thank you to Mary Laskey, horticultural therapist, for helping Bob feel challenged, productive and humbly proud. There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at THE ARN-LOCKIE FUNERAL HOME , Norwich (519) 863-3020 on Monday February 10, 2014. Spring interment Norwich Cemetery.
