DUNLOP, Betty Marie - The true jewel of the Dunlop family of Ingersoll, died Friday, January 24, 2014 at Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll. Her gentle nature, her love of family and friends, her love of laughter and life, will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Born Oct. 15, 1933, in Woodstock, ON, to the late Charles and Isabelle Riddell, Betty and her husband, the late Daniel Melville Dunlop, raised their family in Ingersoll. Betty was a stay-at-home mom until the early 1980's, when she joined the workforce outside of the home, first as a proof reader at the Ingersoll Times, then working at both the Elm Hurst and Canfield's. She was an active member of her church for many years, and a dedicated member of the Rebekah Lodge. She loved the theatre. . .fashions. . .visits over a cup of coffee. Like most, her life was filled with joy and sorrow. She was predeceased by two of her children, the late Daniel Edgar Dunlop, in 1998, and the late Mary Lynne Dunlop in 1960. She will be missed by her daughter Brenda Dunlop, granddaughter Erin Honan and great-grandsons Bazil and Shaedon Fuller-Honan, all of Michigan; by her son Tim Dunlop of Ingersoll and grandchildren Samantha and Alister Stewart of London; by her daughter Anne Dunlop and granddaughter Mikayla of Ingersoll; by her daughter-in-law Carol McKnight and grandson Warren Dunlop of Port Elgin; by her sister-in-law Janey Dunlop and family, of Ingersoll, her niece Jane-Ann Kloser and family, of Tillsonburg, and nephew Paul Shaddock and family, of Woodstock. Also survived by her brother Ted Riddell and family of Lake Rousseau, and by life-long friend Fern Heslop and family, of London. Visitation at the McBEATH-DYNES FUNERAL HOME , 246 Thames St. S., Ingersoll, Monday, January 27, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Ted Hunt officiating. A luncheon at the First Baptist Church will follow. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (cheques accepted ).
